Our Story: The Journey of Sterling Urgent Care
A Vision Born from Experience
Sterling Urgent Care was founded to redefine healthcare for businesses and employees, offering affordable, accessible, and employer-driven solutions. Scott Brown, our CEO and founder, spent decades in healthcare administration, witnessing firsthand the growing costs and inefficiencies in the system.
Determined to create a better way, Scott developed a new model—one where businesses could take control of healthcare costs, improve employee well-being, and eliminate financial waste.
The Spark: A Game-Changing Idea (2005-2012)

2005 – Scott founded Sterling Management and Consulting, helping hospitals optimize operations and revenue.

2008 – As CEO of Moore County Hospital in Texas, Scott introduced a cost-sharing model that saved a large employer millions while keeping care local.

2012 – Instead of accepting multiple CEO offers at hospitals, Scott and his wife Sabrina Brown took a leap of faith, launching Sterling Medical to build a new kind of healthcare model.
The Birth of Sterling Urgent Care (2013-2016)

2013 – Sterling Medical acquired its first urgent care clinic in Idaho Falls, ID, launching the Sterling Urgent Care brand.

2014 – The Bridger Valley, WY clinic became profitable within three weeks of opening!

2015-2016 – Responding to employer demand, we expanded into Logan, UT, opening two clinics to serve businesses and families.
Scaling the Model & Business Success (2017-Present)

2017-2020 – Opened additional clinics in Burley, ID; Lyman, WY; Afton, WY; Hailey, ID, and more!

2021-2023 – Expanded employer-focused healthcare solutions, reducing costs and increasing access for businesses.

2024 – Launched franchising opportunities, allowing businesses to own and operate their own Sterling Urgent Care clinics.
